Facility Manager The Facility Manager is responsible for ensuring the facilities, and general operations are run in an organized, safe and thorough manner. The Facility Manager reports directly to the Executive Director.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Facilities and Operations:
· Ensure room set ups/take downs are organized and implemented for each program. Give input to program planning to ensure optimum room utilization.
· Oversee Regular garbage, yard waste and recycling are organized and removed appropriately
· Oversee neighbour relationships in terms of the grounds and address any complaints or issues with neighbours in that regard in conjunction with the Executive Director
· Communicate with the Municipality around all repairs, regular maintenance and up-keep of the building and grounds.
· Ensure regular projects to up-keep the facility happen, are brought forward to the Executive Director. This includes items like flooring, painting, and any projects that do not fall under the rental agreement with the Municipality
· Ensure facilities are always clean and safe for members, guests and staff. Implement regular cleaning routines and best practices for cleaning and safety of the facility.
· Inventory and ensure supplies are always organized and on-site including cleaning supplies, ground supplies and general maintenance supplies and tools.
· Work with the Rental Coordinator on scheduling staff and ensure there is proper coverage for rentals.
· Create the monthly staff schedule for the Maintenance Department
· Oversee all Facilities and Maintenance Staff including orientation, day-to-day managing, coaching, performance feedback and appraisals in this role.
Health and Safety:
· Participating in Joint Health and Safety Committee, and ensure all recommendations in regard to facility are followed up on in a timely manner
· Ensure all facilities staff have regular proper safety training,
and orientation including WHIMIS, Safe use of Ladders, safe lifting, and all other required safety training.
· Ensure defibrillators are in valuable working order, and First Aid kits are fully stocked and complete as per legislated requirements
· Additional Duties as required
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary diploma in facilities Management, trades, or related discipline or and equivalent combination of education, training, and expertise
· Up to 2 years of management experience
· Ability to mentor, coach, resolve conflict and performance manage staff teams.
· Experience in overseeing facilities and operations
· Strong organizational skills
· Ability to do small repairs, understanding of supports needed to up-keep a large facility
· Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple projects
· Able to work effectively with staff teams, volunteers, members, and senior management at all levels
· Superior communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
· Meticulous ability to plan, organize and pay attention to detail
· Shows initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness
· Strong leadership skills, and ability to engage with/support staff team, members and the community in a positive manner
· Ability to represent BOAA to members, larger community and partnerships in a manner that reflects well on BOAA
· Able to lift 40 lbs. climb on ladders and do general maintenance physical requirements
· Flexible with the ability to work evenings or weekends on some occasions
· Valid Ontario ‘G’ Driver’s License and vehicle available to travel throughout Durham Region if necessary.
Pay: $50,450.40 per year
