Reports To: Hangar lead or director of maintenance
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Position Summary The FBO Line Crew member is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and professional ground support services to aircraft, passengers, pilots, and flight crews. This position plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of a Fixed-Base Operator (FBO), ensuring aircraft are serviced, handled, and positioned safely while delivering a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely marshal, park, move, tow, and reposition aircraft on the ramp.
- Provide aircraft ground services, including lavatory service, potable water, GPU, grooming, and other applicable services.
- Operate and maintain ground support equipment (GSE) in accordance with company procedures.
- Perform aircraft arrivals and departures, including wing-walking and ramp assistance.
- Load and unload baggage, cargo, and other aircraft supplies as required.
- Assist pilots and passengers with luggage, ground transportation, and other FBO service needs.
- Maintain clean, organized, and protected ramp, hangar, and FBO areas.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report defects, damage, or maintenance requirements.
- Follow all company, airport, OSHA, Transport Canada, and applicable aviation safety procedures.
- Maintain proper awareness of aircraft movement areas, vehicle traffic, personnel, and potential hazards.
- Assist with aircraft de-icing/anti-icing operations where applicable and properly trained.
- Respond professionally to customer requests and provide a positive FBO experience.
- Complete required service, safety, and operational documentation accurately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Services Supervisor or FBO Manager.
Qualifications
- Previous aviation, FBO, ground handling, transportation, or customer-service experience is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and ground support equipment.
- Strong commitment to aviation safety and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move baggage, equipment, and supplies as required (40lbs).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Must be able to pass required background, security, and airport access screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous FBO or aircraft ramp experience.
- Aircraft marshalling or towing experience.
- Experience operating aircraft ground support equipment.
- WHMIS, TDG, first aid/CPR,
or other relevant safety training.
- Knowledge of aircraft types and basic aviation terminology.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work on the ramp for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry baggage, equipment, and supplies.
- Ability to work safely around aircraft, vehicles, fuel, and ground support equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, windy, rainy, and snowy conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Employees are expected to consistently follow established operating procedures, maintain situational awareness, and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents. The Line Crew also serves as an important point of contact for pilots and passengers and is expected to provide courteous, professional, and efficient service at all times.
