A growing manufacturing and engineered solutions organization is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function and support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and operational decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a hands‑on environment while partnering closely with leadership to drive financial performance, process improvements, and business growth. This role works closely with operations, sales, suppliers, customers, and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and timely business insights. yearly bonus 5-10%, car allowance $700, company phone, 4 weeks’ vacation + 5 personal days.
Full time permanent chance Location: Aylmer, Ontario (mainly in office with some flexibility to WFH 1 day a week) Opportunity to work directly with senior leadership Exposure to strategic initiatives, process improvements, and operational finance Oversee the full accounting cycle, including monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close activities Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, variance analysis, and commentary Manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and working paper preparation Analyze cost changes, expenses, and business performance metrics Establish, monitor,
and improve internal controls and accounting processes Support year‑end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors Supervise Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and general accounting functions Prepare ad hoc reporting and financial analysis to support business decisions Partner with multiple departments to improve financial visibility and operational performance Lead special projects and continuous improvement initiatives 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of full‑cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting Proven experience implementing and improving accounting processes and internal controls Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel Exposure to ERP systems and accounting software Strong project management, organizational, and time‑management skills Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities Manufacturing, industrial, or project‑based environment experience is considered an asset Drake International is an equal opportunity employer committed to accessibility, inclusivity, and diversity.
