About The Opportunity TalentWorld is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization that is currently seeking a Finance Manager t o join its finance team in Belleville, Ontario.

This is a highly visible role within a manufacturing environment, partnering closely with Operations, Program Management, Engineering, Materials, Purchasing, and Supply Chain. The successful candidate will provide financial analysis and insights that support plant profitability, cost control, forecasting, and operational decision-making.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in manufacturing finance, FP&A;, standard costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis , with manufacturing experience considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

- Lead and support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
- Consolidate financial inputs related to sales, materials, labour, overhead, scrap, and production launches.
- Develop financial models and scenarios to assess changes in production volumes, product mix, labour requirements, and cost inflation.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and present recommendations to plant leadership.

Standard Costing & Cost Analysis

- Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labour, and manufacturing overhead.
- Ensure bills of materials (BOMs) and routing structures accurately reflect manufacturing processes.
- Lead annual standard cost roll activities and support periodic cost updates.
- Analyze cost variances and identify opportunities for improved cost accuracy and control.

Plant Performance & Variance Analysis

- Analyze key manufacturing performance drivers, including:
- Material usage and purchase price variances
- Scrap and quality-related costs

- Labour productivity and efficiency

- Overhead absorption

- Production throughput and efficiency

- Manufacturing cost performance
- Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to plant leadership.
- Track cost-reduction initiatives and quantify savings from continuous improvement projects.

Profitability & Margin Analysis

- Analyze profitability by product line, customer program, and business segment.




- Evaluate margin changes resulting from product mix, material costs, labour, overhead, and operational performance.
- Support customer quoting and commercial activities with financial analysis and profitability insights.

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

- Support the month-end close process through detailed variance analysis and financial commentary.
- Prepare FP&A; reports, dashboards, and management summaries.
- Review financial results for accuracy and identify key business drivers and trends.
- Communicate financial performance and recommendations to operational and finance leadership.

Program & Product Launch Support

- Partner with Program Management on financial models, forecasts, and program profitability.
- Monitor launch-related expenditures against budget.
- Analyze the financial impact of engineering changes, sourcing decisions, and other program changes.
- Support financial planning throughout the product and program lifecycle.

Capital Planning & Investment Analysis

- Support financial analysis for capital investments, including ROI, payback, and NPV calculations.
- Assist leadership in evaluating and prioritizing capital projects based on financial and operational impact.

Leadership & Business Partnership

- Serve as a trusted financial partner to Operations, Purchasing, Materials, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
- Provide financial guidance to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Mentor junior finance team members and contribute to the development of the finance function.
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives across the manufacturing operation.

Qualifications Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in FP&A;, plant finance, financial controlling, or a similar role.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and variance analysis.




- Strong understanding of standard costing and manufacturing financial processes.

Technical Skills

- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, QAD, Oracle, Plex, or similar.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, financial modelling, XLOOKUP, and preferably Power Query.
- Strong understanding of BOMs, routings, standard costs, and manufacturing cost structures.
- Ability to translate operational data into meaningful financial insights.

- Effectiveness of financial partnership with Operations and other business functions
- Contribution to cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
