Job Title: Payroll Administrator

Key Responsibilities:
Process Payroll for entire company (45%)
- Semi-monthly Payroll for GuardTeck, GT Events, Everclean and Gteck for a total 4000 employees (Hourly and Salary)
- Employee record management
- Import payroll entries, including commissions, bonuses and other compensations and deductions, create batches and review payroll utilizing accounting software
- Process payments to the bank, and manually calculate and generate hardcopy paycheques according to specific demand
- Ensure payroll for all staff is authorized, verified, and processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Deliver timely and outstanding customer service to payroll enquiries from internal and external parties regarding payroll matters.
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues in a timely manner.
- Advance the effectiveness of payroll services by implementing improved, standardized processes related to planning and data driven decision making.
- Provide leadership, advice, and recommendations for payroll solutions to management.
- Process and review year-end remittances such as: T4, T2200, etc.
Review and process payroll-related requests (35%)
- Action Payroll Tickets Requests (Vacation, Terminations, Pay Discrepancies, Reimbursements, Contract Amendments, Benefits Retro deductions, Bonus)
- High-level review on Vacation, Reimbursement and pay discrepancies requests.
- Calculate termination ensuring regulatory compliance and processing final payments in a timely manner.
- Issue ROEs and provide additional information to Service Canada as required.
Union Remittance (10% Time Spent)
- Ensure regulatory compliance with union agreements.
- Set up union dues, union benefits and Pension Plan contributions
- Process and review all union remittances.
Ad Hoc Responsibilities (10%):
- Respond
- Improve process efficiencies
- Management reporting (payroll dashboard)
- Off-cycle payroll/requests
- ROEs for Mass deactivations
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Education:
- In-depth understanding of payroll processes and procedures, including payroll accounting, compliance, and tax regulations.
- Familiarity with payroll systems
- Strong numerical and data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Has exceptional organizational, problem solving,
and multi-tasking skills and shows a great attention to detail
- Demonstrates a commitment to Kandor’s core values
- Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with employees and resolving payroll issues.
- Problem-solving skills to handle payroll discrepancies and complex calculations.
- Organizational and time-management skills for meeting payroll deadlines.
- Analytical skills to interpret and reconcile payroll reports.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
