Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and dependable Flatbed Truck Driver to join our transportation team! In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating flatbed trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining excellent customer service. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and vehicle maintenance will be essential to keep our operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate flatbed trucks to transport freight over short and long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Secure loads properly using straps, chains, and other equipment to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security systems
- Assist with loading and unloading freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and freight manifests




- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance or report mechanical issues promptly to ensure optimal operation of the truck

Skills

- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating flatbed trucks and securing freight securely
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is highly desirable
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards for heavy loads
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Robust attention to detail for completing logs, inspection reports, and safety checks
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients effectively
