Lead community wellbeing as the Active Living Community Coordinator at Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre in Halifax. Focus on promoting healthy lifestyles through active living initiatives.

This full-time position is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with the Urban Indigenous population, fostering social inclusion and physical activity. Responsibilities include strategy development, program implementation, and community engagement while addressing various barriers. Evening and weekend availability is essential for this impactful role.

Key Responsibilities:



• Create and oversee the Active Living Strategy • Engage with community organizations for program success • Develop initiatives for diverse age groups to promote health • Facilitate group activities to enhance community participation • Track engagement levels of local residents in activities

Requirements: • Degree in relevant health, recreation, or educational field • Proven background in program management and marketing • Robust oral and written communication abilities • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and health factors • Must provide a vulnerable sector check
