Job Overview The Flooring Estimator prepares accurate, competitive cost estimates for residential and commercial flooring projects on a project-by-project basis. This role involves reviewing plans and specifications, conducting site visits as needed, calculating material and labor costs, and coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure precise bidding. Work is assigned per project, with flexible scheduling based on availability and project volume.

Key Responsibilities

● Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine flooring requirements for assigned projects

● Perform material take-offs for each estimate

● Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals per project, within agreed turnaround times

● Conduct site visits as required to verify measurements and project conditions

● Source pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for each bid

● Coordinate with sales and project management teams during handoff of awarded projects





● Submit bids and respond to client inquiries tied to active estimates

Experience

● Estimating experience in construction industry would be preferred.

● Knowledge of flooring materials (hardwood, tile, carpet, LVP, laminate, etc.) is an asset

● Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel

● Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents

● Excellent attention to detail

● Strong communication and negotiation skills

● Ability to manage multiple concurrent bids and deadlines independently.

Working Conditions

● Remote/flexible with occasional site visits as required per project

● Availability to accept and complete projects within agreed deadlines

● Travel to job sites may be required, reimbursed per company policy

Pay: $36,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
