Job Summary The Flusher Truck Operator is responsible for operating a combination high-pressure water and vacuum flusher truck to clean, flush, and maintain sewer and stormwater systems. This role supports preventative maintenance, inspections, and emergency response while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate flusher/combination trucks to clean and flush sanitary and storm sewer systems
- Perform routine and emergency flushing of sewer mains, laterals, catch basins, and manholes
- Safely operate high-pressure water systems and vacuum equipment
- Set up traffic control and work zones in accordance with safety regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance needs
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and cleaning
- Work closely with CCTV operators, inspectors, and other field crews as required
- Accurately complete daily work reports, logs, and inspection documentation
- Respond to after-hours or emergency callouts when required
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license in good standing
- Minimum 1–3 years experience operating flusher or combination sewer trucks (preferred)
- Knowledge of sewer and stormwater systems considered an asset
- Experience working in traffic and confined spaces is an asset
- Ability to read maps, utility drawings, and work orders

- Strong awareness of safety practices and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive communication and time-management skills
- Physically capable of performing manual labour, including lifting hoses and equipment
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Working Conditions
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Early mornings, overtime, and on-call rotations may be required
- Exposure to wastewater, traffic, noise, and heavy equipment
