Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at our Richmond location. While Richmond will be the employee’s primary work location, the successful candidate must be willing to provide operational support at our Maple Ridge facility from time to time as business needs require.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating equipment, loading and unloading scrap materials, assisting with metal sorting, and supporting general yard operations. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone with equipment operation experience and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Duties

- Operating the forklift safely and efficiently
- Loading and unloading containers with scrap material using the forklift
- Sorting and separating non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, and brass.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs and daily records of machine operation and maintenance activities.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Support yard operations and assist other team members as required.
- Inspecting and identifying different metal types accurately.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Skills & Qualifications

- Previous experience operating a forklift (Mandatory for this role) and/or skid steer (an Asset)
- Willingness to operate other equipment, including skid steer, when required. Previous experience is considered an asset.




- Forklift certification is mandatory.
- Open to learning the identification, classification, and handling of both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial or scrap yard environment.
- Strong attention to safety procedures and workplace hazards.
- Physically capable of performing manual labor and working outdoors.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced environment and follow instructions.
- Flexible and willing to provide operational support at our Maple Ridge location when business needs require.

Position Details

- Full-time, stable employment
- Monday to Friday schedule (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Available to work on Saturdays based on operational needs
