Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts to move, organize, and manage materials within our warehouse and yard. Your efforts will ensure smooth production flow and accurate order fulfillment, supporting our commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, and order pickers to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of building materials with proper technique to prevent injury
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory levels, update stock locations, and process order picking tasks
- Assist in organizing warehouse storage areas for optimal space utilization and accessibility
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety standards are maintained and report any malfunctions promptly
- Support order picking activities by accurately selecting items according to specifications and preparing them for shipment or production use
- Maintain a clean, safe,
and organized work environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts, or other warehouse equipment with certification preferred
- Confidence in moving larger scale items, our wall packs are 12' x 10' on average.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic equipment issues effectively
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes and inventory management systems
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and order accuracy
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and stand or walk for extended periods
- Prior experience with order picker equipment or similar tools is a plus
- Solid attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
