Overview
Join our innovative new team as a Full Stack Junior Software Developer and ignite your career in software development!
We’re looking for the best talent to join a new team for a web-based fleet and trucking logistics platform. Clients hire trucks, carriers manage fleets, and drivers execute jobs with GPS tracking, photo documentation, messaging, and billing integrations.
You’ll work on a full-stack product with real users and real business workflows — job lifecycle management, load requests, admin tooling, QuickBooks billing, SMS notifications, and more. This is a hands-on role: you’ll ship features, fix bugs, write tests, participate in code reviews, and grow into ownership of small areas of the codebase.
This dynamic role offers the chance to work across both front-end and back-end technologies, contributing to exciting application projects that make a real impact. You will collaborate with experienced developers in an energetic environment that fosters growth, creativity, and continuous learning.
Duties
· Build and maintain REST API endpoints and React UI features across driver, carrier, client, and admin experiences
· Work with PostgreSQL using an ORM — schema design, queries, migrations, and data integrity
· Implement form validation and API contracts
· Debug issues in Linux environments using the terminal, logs, and local dev tooling
· Containerize and run services with Docker where applicable
· Use Git and GitHub for branching, pull requests, and collaborative development
· Participate in code reviews (giving and receiving feedback) and address automated review comments
· Use AI-assisted development tools effectively — accelerating implementation while still understanding, testing, and owning the code you ship
· Add and maintain automated tests for business logic and API behavior
· Integrate with third-party services (e.g. Twilio, QuickBooks Online, Google APIs,
email providers)
Skills
Backend & data
· Solid Python fundamentals (functions, modules, error handling, working with APIs)
· Experience building HTTP APIs — ideally with FastAPI (or similar frameworks such as Flask/Django REST)
· Working knowledge of PostgreSQL: tables, joins, indexes, basic query optimization, and migrations
· Comfort reading and writing SQL
DevOps & workflow
· Daily comfort on Linux and in the terminal (shell navigation, process management, logs, env vars)
· Experience with Git (feature branches, commits, rebasing/merging, resolving conflicts)
· Familiarity with GitHub Actions (or comparable CI) — running tests, linting, and build pipelines on pull requests
· Basic Docker usage: building images, running containers, docker-compose for local development
Engineering practices
· Experience participating in code reviews — reviewing others’ PRs and incorporating feedback on your own
· Experience using AI coding assistants (e.g. Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) as part of your workflow, with the judgment to verify output, write tests, and not ship code you don’t understand
· Ability to write clear commit messages and PR descriptions
General
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Clear communication in English
· Excellent internet connection To apply
