Buffalo Trail Public Schools is excited to offer a full-time Grade 1/2 teaching opportunity at Edgerton Public School for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a probationary position, beginning September 28 or a mutually agreed-upon start date. Specific Position Details

Start Date: September 28, 2026

End Date: June 29, 2027

Location: Edgerton Public School – Edgerton, Alberta Assignment: Grade ½

Contract Type: Probationary

FTE: 1.0

Specific Position Duties The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate

- The ability to create engaging, inclusive, and responsive learning environments that support the academic, social, and emotional growth of elementary students
- Knowledge of early learning and development, effective literacy and numeracy instructional practices, and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Experience using assessment to inform instruction, monitor student progress, and support individual learning needs through collaboration with families and school-based teams
- A commitment to fostering positive relationships and creating a classroom culture where all students feel valued, supported, and challenged to achieve success

Qualifications and General Duties The successful candidate will possess:

- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- A student-centered philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
- Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning,



including formative and summative assessment practices
- Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning
- The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
- A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset

About School Edgerton Public School is a K-12 school offering full programming to approximately 140 students. We strive to provide small class sizes in a technologically rich environment while maintaining a strong focus on literacy and numeracy.
