Come make Vancouver’s favourite donuts with us.
Lee’s Donuts started in 1979 as a little mom-and-pop donut shop in the heart of Granville Island Public Market. More than 45 years later, we’re still doing what we’ve always done: making fresh, classic donuts and creating the kind of experience that makes people happy they stopped by.
We’ve grown a lot since those early days, but we never want to lose what makes Lee’s, Lee’s.
We care about great donuts, good people, warm hospitality and having some fun along the way. We believe work should feel welcoming, people should be able to be themselves, and there’s something pretty great about making food that can turn someone’s entire day around.
It’s a donut. But also… it’s kind of more than a donut.
And yes, you will probably go home smelling like them.
There are worse things.
So, what does a Donut Baker actually do?
You make the good stuff. You’ll be part of the team mixing, frying, glazing, filling, decorating and finishing the donuts people line up for.
You’ll learn our recipes and techniques, keep your station clean and organized, and work alongside a team that knows how to move when the donut rush hits.
Some days are fast. Some days are messy. Occasionally the glaze ends up somewhere the glaze was definitely not intended to be.
There will be sprinkles.
But there’s also something ridiculously satisfying about looking at a rack full of freshly made donuts and thinking:
Yep. I made those.
You might be our kind of person if...
- You care about doing things well, even when nobody’s watching.
- You show up when you say you will. (Your teammates will love you for this.)
- You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty. Floury.
Glazed. Possibly all three.
- You can move quickly without letting quality go out the window.
- You take feedback well, ask questions and actually want to learn.
- You’re happy jumping in when someone needs a hand.
And most importantly, you’re a good human who wants to work with other good humans. Baking or kitchen experience is definitely a bonus, but donut experience isn’t required.
We can teach you the donuts.
A excellent attitude? That part you have to bring yourself.
The important stuff
Pay: $18.25/hour + tips Position: Full-Time
Schedule: 40 hours per week.
This is an active kitchen job. You’ll be on your feet, moving around, working with commercial kitchen equipment and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
You’ll also need to follow our food safety and cleanliness standards because while we fully support having fun at work, we draw the line at questionable kitchen hygiene.
Clean kitchen. Happy donuts. Happy people.
Why Lee’s?
Because we think where you work, and who you work with, matters. You’ll learn a craft.
You’ll work with people who care about what they make.
You’ll become part of a Vancouver brand that has been around since 1979 and somehow still gets genuinely excited about a perfectly glazed donut.
And you’ll help make something that brings a little bit of happiness into someone’s day.
That’s a pretty good way to spend a shift.
We take our donuts seriously.
Ourselves? Considerably less so.
If you’re looking for a place where you can work hard, learn something, be yourself and have some fun while making really great donuts, we should probably talk.
Come make some donuts with us.
Side effects may include an unusually strong opinion about the correct amount of glaze.
