Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a versatile, relationship-focused educator to join the team at Dr. Folkins Community School in Chauvin, Alberta. This temporary teaching position includes English Language Arts 7–9, Social Studies 9, English Language Arts 30, and one junior high mathematics class.

Dr. Folkins Community School is a small rural K–12 school where flexibility, collaboration, and strong relationships are key to student success. Specific Position Details

Start Date: August 26, 2026

End Date: Per the return of the incumbent teacher

Location: Dr Folkins Community School – Chauvin, Alberta

Assignment: Junior High and Senior High Teacher

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary

FTE: 1.0

Specific Position Duties The anticipated assignment may include a combination of:

- Division 3 and 4 ELA
- Division 3 Social Studies
- One Jr. Math Class

Qualifications and General Duties The successful candidate will possess:

- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- A student-centered philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
- Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices
- Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning
- The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team




- A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset
