Join the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy as a Research Associate focusing on Indigenous Data Governance. Engage with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities to uphold data sovereignty and enhance research practices.
This role, starting October 1, 2026, requires a dedicated researcher with a passion for Indigenous studies and health policy. As the Research Associate, you will contribute to the Health Data Research Network’s Indigenous Data Team, facilitating collaborations, conducting literature reviews, and developing impactful research proposals. Your work will champion Indigenous data sovereignty principles and foster knowledge co-development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Indigenous leaders to shape data strategies
• Lead literature synthesis on Indigenous data governance
• Write proposals for research funding applications
• Disseminate research findings through publications
• Coordinate national and international meetings and events
Requirements:
• Doctorate or Master’s in relevant disciplines
• Solid history of commitment to Indigenous rights
• Demonstrated experience in data governance projects
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven leadership in academic settings
