What You'll Do

- Support HDD drilling and underground telecommunications construction crews
- Assist with the installation of various telecom structures and underground utility infrastructure
- Assist with the installation of conduit, ducts, cable, pedestals, vaults, handholes and related structures
- Perform hand digging, trenching, grading, backfilling and compaction
- Safely operate a skid steer as required
- Operate a power tamper for soil and trench compaction
- Handle tools, equipment and construction materials
- Assist with site setup, equipment spotting and site restoration
- Load, unload and move materials and equipment around job sites
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
- Follow PTL, client and regulatory safety requirements




- Work effectively as part of a crew and assist teammates as required

What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, safety-minded and comfortable working in a physically demanding outdoor construction environment.

- Strong work ethic, reliability and a positive attitude
- Previous experience safely operating a skid steer is an asset
- Ability to operate a skid steer safely around workers, equipment and underground utilities
- Comfortable operating a power tamper and performing physical compaction work
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work for extended periods
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions, including:
- Hot summer days working in direct sun
- Rainy and wet spring conditions
- Cold, snowy and winter conditions
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew and take direction
- Reliable and punctual attendance is essential — arriving on time is important to ensure the crew is properly staffed and your teammates are not left shorthanded
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are an asset
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks safely and accurately
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on different responsibilities
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with an acceptable driver's abstract
- CSTS 2020
- Flexibility to work overtime,



weekends or extended hours as required
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Reliable transportation to project locations

Previous experience in telecommunications, utility construction, HDD, civil construction, excavation or underground infrastructure is an asset. Schedule & Compensation

$21.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience.

Full-time, permanent position. Day, night, overtime, on-call and occasional weekend work may be required depending on project needs.

Travel to project sites throughout Alberta and BC may also be required.

Ground Disturbance Level II, First Aid/CPR, TCP and WHMIS certifications are considered assets.
