About us Thompson’s Iron and Metal is a current and fast-growing scrap metal processor in Gravenhurst, Ontario, Canada. Situated just moments away from Highway 11 and the Beiers Landfill Site, our company specializes in procuring, evaluating, handling and refining ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals. Our clientele includes waste management corporations, demolition contractors and individual contributors.

With the goal of continuous growth and success, we are currently seeking a motivated and hard-working General Labourer.

As a key member of our team, our General Labourer is responsible for directing customers to designated areas, general site tidying and processing metals. Year round work. Monday to Friday - weekend work optional.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to join our team. As a General Laborer,



you will be responsible for performing various physical tasks to assist in the scrap yard. This is a hands-on role that requires physical strength and stamina.

Duties:

- Greeting and directing customers to designated areas
- Grading loads upon arrival
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Operate hand tools and power tools as needed
- Daily and ongoing clean-up of job site
- Processing various types of metals (training provided)
- Perform basic mechanical tasks, such as greasing equipment, changing leaking hydraulic hoses, etc
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment

Skills:

- Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor tasks
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in tasks
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when necessary
