A Nicer Motel is seeking an experienced General Manager – Gas Station & Motel Operations to oversee the day-to-day operation of our business in Watson Lake, Yukon.

This is a hands-on management position responsible primarily for our gas station and retail operations, while also overseeing our 12-room motel and 2 cabins. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient daily operations, robust customer service, effective staff supervision, and the overall performance of both sides of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, direct and evaluate daily business operations
- Manage staff, assign duties and determine staffing requirements
- Oversee gas station and retail operations, including merchandise, services and pricing
- Purchase and maintain appropriate inventory and supplies
- Work with suppliers and vendors
- Monitor budgets, revenues and operating expenses
- Develop and implement marketing and promotional initiatives
- Resolve customer concerns, operational issues and supply shortages
- Conduct employee performance reviews and support staff development
- Oversee motel and cabin operations, including reservations, guest services and accommodation pricing
- Coordinate housekeeping,



maintenance and general property requirements
- Help ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for customers and guests
- Maintain accurate business records and use point-of-sale, accounting and office software as required

Qualifications

- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Experience in retail, fuel/service-station operations, hospitality or accommodations is an asset
- Strong organizational, communication and customer-service skills
- Experience with point-of-sale systems, accounting software, email and spreadsheets
- Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and make sound operational decisions

We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, adaptable, proactive and comfortable taking responsibility for the day-to-day operation of a small multi-service business. This is a permanent, full-time, on-site position in Watson Lake, Yukon. Shift and on-call availability may be required.

Pay: $26.29-$41.36 per hour
