Transport Trailer Sales Inc. (TTS) is an established, successful, and financially strong Ontario trailer dealership founded in 1993. We are a full-service commercial trailer organization representing leading manufacturers including Wabash, MAC, Max-Atlas, Trailmobile, Wilson and other product lines.

We have significant growth planned through the expansion of our Wabash dealership, rental fleet, parts operation and service capabilities. Our objective is to increase our revenue over the next several years while improving profitability and organizational strength. We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead this next stage of growth.

The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for the overall operation and performance of the company.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Owner/Chairman and leadership team to establish the systems, people and processes required to scale the company while maintaining its entrepreneurial culture and strong customer relationships.

The Owner intends to progressively remove himself from the day-to-day operation of the business. The successful candidate will therefore become the company's senior operating leader and will have significant authority and accountability for the day-to-day business.

Key Responsibilities

Overall Leadership

- Assume overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the company
- Lead and develop the management team
- Establish explicit accountability, goals and performance expectations
- Develop and implement annual operating plans and budgets
- Build a high-performance, professional management culture while maintaining the company's entrepreneurial spirit
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability, productivity and customer service

Trailer Sales





- Lead the sales organization and establish sales and gross-profit targets
- Develop sales strategies for Wabash, MAC, Max-Atlas, Trailmobile, Wilson and other product lines
- Monitor pricing, margins, inventory and sales performance
- Recruit, develop and retain high-quality salespeople
- Develop major fleet and commercial accounts
- Work with OEM partners to maximize territory and product opportunities

Rental & Fleet

- Oversee the rental/lease fleet
- Establish fleet utilization, profitability and replacement targets
- Develop plans for responsible fleet expansion
- Monitor rental rates, maintenance costs, downtime and residual values
- Ensure fleet decisions are based on return on invested capital and long-term profitability

Service & Mobile Maintenance

- Oversee the service operation and mobile service program
- Improve technician productivity, shop utilization and turnaround time
- Develop strategies to bring appropriate rental fleet repairs in-house
- Manage outside repair vendors and control repair costs
- Establish service KPIs and profitability targets

Parts

- Lead the development and expansion of the company's parts operation
- Support the growth of the Wabash parts business
- Establish inventory, gross-margin, purchasing and inventory-turn objectives
- Develop commercial and wholesale parts opportunities
- Work closely with the Parts Manager and Service Manager

Financial & Operational Management

- Work closely with the Controller to manage financial performance
- Monitor revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, cash flow, inventory and working capital
- Manage trailer inventory and floorplan exposure
- Establish meaningful departmental KPIs
- Ensure capital is allocated to the highest-return opportunities
- Report regularly to the Owner/Chairman

Growth & Expansion

- Lead the company's planned growth




- Evaluate and develop opportunities for a second Ontario location
- Develop expansion plans for rental, parts and service
- Evaluate potential acquisitions or strategic opportunities as appropriate

People & Succession

- Build a strong management team capable of operating independently
- Develop future leaders within the organization
- Establish an organization that is not dependent upon the Owner for daily decisions

Ideal Candidate We are looking for an experienced business operator rather than simply a sales manager.

The ideal candidate will have:

- 10+ years of progressive management experience
- Significant experience running a dealership, commercial vehicle/trailer operation, equipment dealership, rental/fleet business, transportation company or similar organization
- Demonstrated responsibility for P&L; performance
- Strong understanding of sales, service, parts and fleet operations
- Experience managing managers and frontline employees
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Experience managing inventory and working capital
- Experience with business growth and organizational development
- Strong negotiation and customer relationship skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- A hands-on, entrepreneurial approach

Experience in commercial trailers, truck dealerships, heavy equipment, transportation equipment, fleet/rental or related industries would be highly advantageous.
