Here at Avon Valley, we have been in operation since 1930 and consider ourselves a very stable company. We are seeking a dedicated Greenhouse Laborer to join our team and support the daily operations of our greenhouse. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for horticulture, farming, and outdoor work.

The Greenhouse

Laborer will play a vital part in maintaining plant health, managing irrigation systems, and assisting with various gardening and landscaping tasks. Prior greenhouse experience, growing knowledge, and mechanical aptitude are highly valued to ensure efficient operation and plant care. Please note that this is a production oriented position, with output being the primary consideration. This position is seasonal, beginning with a minimum of four shifts per week, possibly leading to a full time position later on.

Responsibilities

- Assist with planting and caring for crops within the greenhouses
- Assist with irrigation and layout
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving heavy materials or plants as needed
- Pack, label, and wrap carts for shipping
- Use equipment related to planting and packing of greenhouse product
- Fulfilling wholesale orders,



as well as preparing and receiving shipments
- Proper care and handling practices of greenhouse product
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols onsite

Qualifications

- Prior experience in horticulture, greenhouse operations, farming, landscaping, or agriculture is an asset
- Capable of heavy lifting (50lbs) and performing physically demanding tasks for extended periods
- Be capable of standing for long periods
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with strict production deadlines
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Ability to follow safe workplace procedures and cleanliness standards
- Have reliable transportation
- Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions
