Lead resource stewardship with Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nations as a Lands & Resources Manager. Focus on sustainable practices in forestry, fisheries, and community involvement while enhancing Indigenous rights. This full-time position requires a seasoned qualified dedicated to managing our traditional territories.
The successful candidate will oversee a comprehensive portfolio involving environmental programs, forestry initiatives, and community engagement. Capable leaders with a robust understanding of Indigenous governance and environmental management will thrive here. Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage all Lands & Resources initiatives
- Supervise personnel and coordinate departmental activities
- Ensure budget compliance and manage funding agreements
- Respond to environmental consultations and development requests
- Facilitate partnerships with First Nations and external stakeholders Requirements:
- Diploma in Environmental Science or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years in resource management or related experience
- Supervisory experience of at least 3 years
- Understanding of Indigenous rights and land use
