Kitchen Manager – Schoolhouse Brewery

Schoolhouse Brewery is seeking an experienced, motivated Head Chef to lead our culinary team and continue building on the strong foundation already in place.

The Schoolhouse Kitchen features a focused, crowd-pleasing menu built around signature burgers, “classy friess,” tacos, and loaded nachos—designed to pair perfectly with our small-batch craft beer. We’re looking for a hands-on leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for quality, consistency, and team development.

You will be stepping into a well-run, profitable kitchen with clearly defined systems, expectations, and procedures—positioning you for success from day one.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, consistency, presentation, and speed of service
- Manage menu costing, pricing, and overall profitability
- Oversee inventory control, ordering, and supplier relationships
- Recruit, schedule, and lead kitchen staff
- Train team members in preparation, cooking, portioning, and plating standards
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, storage, and cleanliness regulations
- Work on the line and support service during peak periods
- Develop and execute weekly feature specials
- Collaborate on social media promotion of menu items and specials
- Provide quarterly reporting on food cost, labour cost,



and margins
- Participate in weekly front-of-house management meetings

Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in a kitchen environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and cost-control skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Creativity balanced with operational discipline
- Must reside locally and have reliable transportation
