Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a talented, customer service oriented and dedicated Convention Services Head Houseperson (Full-Time) to join our Event Services team . The Head Houseperson is responsible for supervising and leading a team of Convention Services Houseperson to ensure guest expectations are met and exceeded in a timely manner in setting up and breaking down of all meeting spaces with tables/chairs/water. This is a fast-paced position with continual customer contact. Other duties include general events preparation and maintaining a sanitary environment (Event service station setups, stock replenishment, equipment organization and cleaning).
Candidate must be available to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays . Shifts could either be opening shifts (AM, MID or PM) which start at 5:00am and/or closing shifts until 2:00AM.
Starting wage for this position is $24.02 per hour, after 6 months wage is $28.03 per hour, after 1 year wage is $32.03 per hour.

Qualifications
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible and able to work varied shifts and hours including weekends, holidays and graveyard shifts
- Must have at least one-year supervisory role experience
- Must possess excellent leadership skills: motivator, fair, takes initiative, listening skills, led by example, empathy, organize
- Must be an excellent team player and able to work with a diverse group of people and guests
- Previous convention services and set-up experience is an asset
- Previous Banquets experience is an asset
- Previous food and beverage experience is an asset
- Must be able to meet deadlines and able to multitask
- Must have exceptional communication skills and fluent in the English language
- Knowledge of a second language is an asset
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting of up to 50lbs
- Frequent standing throughout shift
- Frequent walking throughout the shift
- Occasional ascending or descending stairs, ladders and ramps
