Position OverviewAs Kruger Recycling continues its transformation into a more commercially driven and profit-focused business, the Senior Broker plays a key strategic role in driving growth and profitability. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the incumbent contributes to the execution of the strategic plan and the achievement of the organization's growth objectives. This is a business development role focused on securing new volumes, optimizing margins through market analysis, and contributing directly to the financial performance of the profit centre.ResponsibilitiesPrimary MandateSecure strategic volumes from the ICI (Industrial, Commercial and Institutional) sector and open markets.Optimize pricing and margins through market arbitrage.Support the continued transition toward a self-sustaining profit centre with clearly measurable and defensible financial results.Contribute to commercial decision-making by maintaining an appropriate balance between Kruger's internal integration requirements and market-driven business opportunities.Business DevelopmentIdentify, prospect,
and secure recent suppliers and customers.Develop new sources of supply and generate incremental business volumes beyond existing agreements.Actively develop new outlets for recovered fibre.Brokerage and Market ArbitrageDevelop and implement purchasing and sales strategies aligned with market conditions.Recommend the most effective allocation of volumes between Kruger's internal requirements and external sales opportunities, in accordance with established governance guidelines.Maximize commercial opportunities while maintaining reliable fibre supply to Kruger's mills.Profit Centre ContributionMeet and exceed established gross margin and volume targets.Contribute to pricing optimization and profitability.Support sound financial management by ensuring commercial decisions is properly documented and traceable.Market Intelligence and Risk ManagementContinuously monitor market trends, including pricing, capacity, and market volatility.Mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities associated with export markets.Provide management with market intelligence and market analysis to support business decision-making.Execution and CoordinationManage supplier and customer relationships, including matters related to quality, delivery,
claims and complaints.Prepare and provide all documentation required for export transactions.Work closely with Operations, Logistics and Customer Service teams.QualificationsBachelor's degree in business administration, Management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.ExperienceTen years (10+) or more of experience in brokerage, recovered fibre sales, the pulp and paper industry, or related industrial markets.Proven experience in business development and new market prospecting.Strong understanding of North American recovered materials markets.Availability for frequent travel.Skills And AbilityStrong business acumen and results-oriented mindset.Ability to work independently within a well-defined governance framework.Sound commercial judgment and the ability to assess and manage risk effectively.Skilled and credible negotiator capable of creating long-term value for the organization.Comfortable working in a changing environment and helping drive transformation.LANGUAGESBilingual (French and English), both spoken and written.Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
