Health Care Aide / Support Worker

Location: Schonsee Way NW, Edmonton, AB

Role: Provide one-on-one home and community support to a client, with a focus on companionship, transportation, meal preparation, errands, and maintaining a comfortable home workplace.

Schedule: Part-time, 4 days per week

- Monday: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Tuesday: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Thursday: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- 5 hours per day / 20 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Providing companionship and engaging the client in meaningful conversation and activities
- Driving and accompanying the client to medical appointments
- Transporting the client for grocery shopping, errands, and other outings
- Running errands with or for the client as needed
- Preparing meals
- Light housekeeping
- Supporting the client with everyday activities




- Encouraging independence and providing respectful, compassionate support
- Maintaining consistent and professional documentation
- Communicating appropriately with BrightCare management
- Maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times

REQUIREMENTS

- Previous caregiving, Health Care Aide, or support work experience
- Health Care Aide certification is an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
- Reliable personal vehicle required for transporting the client
- Comfortable driving the client to appointments, shopping, errands, and outings in your own vehicle
- Appropriate automobile insurance
- Valid First Aid/CPR certificate
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Experience working with seniors or individuals requiring support is an asset
- Good written and spoken English for professional communication, documentation, and client interactions
- Kind, calm, patient, honest, compassionate, reliable, and dependable
- Able to work independently and responsibly
- Strong commitment to scheduled shifts and punctuality
