We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will contribute to ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting overall operational productivity. This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse equipment while developing and advancing your technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial equipment to prevent breakdowns.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to execute repairs and assembly tasks.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Conduct electrical repairs on machinery, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Perform heavy lifting as required for parts replacement or equipment servicing.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities.
- Operate heavy equipment during testing or troubleshooting procedures when necessary.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose,



repair, and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and industrial machinery (apprentice experience accepted).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams (willing to train apprentices as needed).
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment; apprentices must have basic tool knowledge and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely during testing or repairs.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous learning.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, as necessary.
- Valid Heavy Duty Mechanic trade certification is an asset for journeyperson applicants.
- Valid driver's license (Class 5 or higher).
- Must be registered with the ITA (or willing to register).

Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $30.00 per hour
