Role Description This is a full-time, remote Home Inspector role with A Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections Canada | ABCHI Commercial Inspections.
The Home
Inspector will conduct detailed residential and commercial property inspections, evaluating structural components, roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, and safety features, and documenting findings in clear, comprehensive reports. Day-to-day responsibilities include scheduling and performing inspections, communicating results and recommendations to clients and real estate partners, and answering questions to support informed decisions. The role also involves maintaining strong relationships with Realtors and property owners,
adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements, and using ABCHI tools and systems to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
The Home
Inspector will represent the brand professionally in the local community and may participate in networking and business development activities to grow the client base.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform thorough Property Inspections and Inspection activities, including assessing building systems, safety issues, and overall property condition.
- Experience or familiarity with Property Management principles, such as understanding maintenance needs, long-term asset care, and occupancy considerations.
- Skills in New Business Development, including networking with Realtors and property owners, building referral relationships, and growing a local client base.
- Strong Customer Service capabilities, with a focus on transparent communication, responsiveness, professionalism, and educating clients about inspection findings.
- Attention to detail, observational skills, and the ability to produce accurate, timely written inspection reports.
- Comfort working independently in a remote, field-based setting, managing schedules, and prioritizing multiple inspections.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site inspections.
- Relevant certification or licensing as a Home Inspector (or willingness to obtain), and adherence to applicable provincial or state regulations and industry standards.
- Basic digital literacy, including using mobile devices, inspection software, and online tools for reporting and communication.
