HSE Elements is a growing health, safety and environmental consulting and training company supporting clients across construction, industrial, infrastructure, rail and other sectors.
We provide HSE consulting, field services, training and practical safety solutions. We're looking for an experienced HSE Coordinator who can confidently work with our clients, support projects in the field and help turn safety requirements into practical action.
The Role
As an HSE Coordinator with HSE Elements, you won't necessarily be assigned to the same site every day.
You'll have the opportunity to support different clients, projects and industries throughout the Greater Toronto Area, working alongside supervisors, workers, project teams and management.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable in the field, communicates well with people and understands that effective HSE is about more than completing paperwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace and project site inspections
- Identify hazards, unsafe conditions and opportunities for improvement
- Complete inspection reports and follow up on corrective actions
- Support the development and implementation of HSE programs, procedures and safe work practices
- Conduct and participate in hazard assessments and job safety analyses
- Support incident and near-miss investigations
- Assist with determining root causes and corrective actions
- Monitor compliance with applicable HSE legislation, regulations, client requirements and company policies
- Support client HSE programs and project-specific requirements
- Participate in toolbox talks, orientations and safety meetings
- Review HSE documentation and site records for completeness and compliance
- Work directly with supervisors, workers, contractors and management to address safety concerns
- Track HSE observations, incidents,
corrective actions and other performance information
- Assist with internal and external HSE audits
- Prepare reports, documentation and recommendations for clients and management
- Provide practical HSE guidance and support to workers and project teams
- Represent HSE Elements professionally while working at client locations
- Travel between client sites and project locations throughout the GTA as required
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of professional HSE experience
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety or a related field is preferred
- Working knowledge of Ontario occupational health and safety legislation
- Experience conducting workplace/site inspections and hazard assessments
- Experience with incident investigations and corrective actions
- Strong understanding of hazard recognition and risk assessment
- Strong written documentation and report-writing skills
- Comfortable working independently in field environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors and senior management
- Confident addressing safety concerns professionally and constructively
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to client locations throughout the GTA
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Assets The following would be considered assets:
- CRSP, CRST, NCSO or other recognized HSE designation
- Construction or infrastructure experience
- Rail experience
- Industrial or manufacturing experience
- COR experience
- Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or integrated management systems
- Experience developing HSE procedures, programs or training materials
- Experience working in a consulting environment
- Experience supporting multiple projects or clients

Location & Eligibility This role supports projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area and will involve travel to different client and project locations.
