Position: Human Resources Business Partner
Location: Edmonton, AB (On Site)
Classification: Full-Time, Immediate Hire

The Opportunity The Human Resources Business Partner – SSC is responsible for providing people management support, advice, and consultative services in partnership with leaders and associates. He/she will work with managements; greater HR team, partnering collaboratively with employees and management within their assigned dealership Platform. Using your strong HR/business consulting and communication capabilities, you will assess, anticipate, and resolve HR-related needs by communicating proactively with the SSC group to develop integrated solutions that reflect the overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
People & Culture Partnership (60%)
- Serve as the primary People & Culture partner for the SSC portfolio, providing strategic guidance and support across the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, leaves, investigations, organizational change, and policy interpretation.
- Manage employee offboarding activities, including exit interviews, terminations, voluntary departures, exit processes, knowledge transfer coordination, and partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless and compliant transition
- Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs to support successful employee integration.
- Participate in leadership meetings, business reviews, and planning sessions to align people strategies with business objectives.
- Leverage people metrics and workforce data to provide insights and recommendations on trends turnover, engagement, organizational design, and workforce planning.
- Coach leaders on talent management, employee development, performance, and HR best practices.
- Champion organizational change and continuous improvement by partnering with People & Culture colleagues to enhance processes, programs, and employee experience initiatives.
- Maintain confidential employee records and ensure compliance with company policies, employment legislation, and internal practices.
- Administer protected leave programs and coordinate accommodation processes in partnership with leaders and employees.
Full-Cycle Talent Acquisition (20%)
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for assigned roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate assessment, and selection.
- Partner with hiring leaders to develop effective recruitment strategies and ensure timely hiring outcomes.
- Support new hire integration through structured onboarding and follow-up activities, including 30/60/90-day check-ins.
Projects & Continuous Improvement (20%)
- Lead and manage HR projects, programs, and initiatives that support business objectives and enhance the employee experience.
- Collaborate with business leaders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions, policies, and best practices.
- Conduct research and benchmarking to identify emerging trends, best practices, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources generalist experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a business discipline, or equivalent experience.
- CPHR designation is preferred.
- Understanding of provincial legislation, across Canada is an asset.
- Experience in a corporate and/or national retailer setting preferred.

- Outstanding negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge of relevant federal and provincial employment laws.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel on relatively short notice.
