Bring your HR expertise to the plant floor and help our people thrive. You're not the kind of HR qualified who stays behind a desk. With 5-7 years of experience in HR and a background in manufacturing, you know the best work happens on the plant floor - supporting employees and managers through every aspect of HR, from hiring to labour relations and everything in between.
Reporting to the Plant General Manager, you'll be the go‑to HR presence at our Barrie plant, a trusted partner for employees and managers alike, whether it's navigating labour relations, guiding performance conversations, or being a visible, hands‑on resource right on the floor. As soon as possible Permanent On‑site: Full‑time, day shift, Monday to Friday Implement and drive HR programs in support of Garaga’s HR strategy. Provide coaching and guidance to management team on developing positive employee relations and performance management within the framework of current policies and collective agreements.
Lead case management for disability (both work and non-work-related cases). Build and administer the attendance management program.
Research and inform management team of any HR and/or Health and Safety legislative changes that have impact on business operations; ensure policies reflect changes.
Lead recruitment by assisting management in workforce planning, external and internal job postings, interview and selection process, and contract negotiations. advise on training needs and development. Assist in processing of payroll and maintenance of benefit plans; Assist in Collective Agreement Negotiations when required. Plant presence on the shop floor. 5-7 years work experience in the HR field.
Experience working in the Manufacturing sector.
