About the Role The HR/Health & Safety Coordinator provides day-to-day administrative and program support to Branch Managers, helping keep our people programs and workplace safety practices running smoothly across all departments. This role is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys variety, and wants to build a well-rounded career in human resources and occupational health and safety. You will support recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and training coordination, while also owning the day-to-day administration of our health and safety program, including inspections, incident documentation, and compliance tracking.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Support

- Support the full recruitment cycle: post job openings, screen resumes, schedule interviews, and coordinating candidate communication
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, including offer letter preparation, orientation scheduling, and completion of required paperwork
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HR and payroll systems (ADP)
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
- Help coordinate performance review cycles and training sessions
- Draft and update HR-related correspondence, memos, and policy documents as directed
- Support the Branch Managers with employee relations matters by maintaining accurate documentation
- Generate routine HR reports and assist with tracking HR metrics

Health & Safety Coordination
- Administer the day-to-day operation of the workplace health and safety program in line with applicable provincial OH&S; legislation
- Schedule and document regular workplace inspections; track corrective actions to completion
- Coordinate new hire safety orientations and maintain records of safety training and certifications
- Support incident and near-miss reporting, including documentation, follow-up, and filing of WCB/WSIB claims
- Maintain safety committee meeting minutes, and other required H&S; records
- Help organize and track completion of first aid, WHMIS,



and other required safety certifications
- Identify and escalate potential compliance gaps to the Branch Managers

General Administration
- Maintain organized, confidential physical and digital HR and safety files
- Respond to routine employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and safety practices
- Support the Branch Managers with special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Assist with other administrative duties as required

Qualifications Education & Experience
- Diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in HR administration, coordination, or health and safety support role
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of Canadian employment standards and provincial occupational health and safety legislation
- Familiarity with WCB/WSIB claims processes considered an asset
- Experience with HR and payroll software (ADP preferred)
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Working Conditions
