Mission
Our client, a leading insurance company, is seeking an IAM / Okta Analyst to design, build, and validate a Proof of Concept (POC) for Okta Authorization. The client currently uses Okta to serve both internal users and external customer portal users. The selected resource will own both the POC implementation and the subsequent application/API integration work.
What You'll Do
- Assess the client's current Okta and IAM environment, identifying gaps and integration points.
- Define authorization use cases covering both internal and external (customer-facing) users.
- Design and configure Okta Authorization Servers, including scopes, claims, and policies.
- Implement OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect flows aligned to the defined use cases.
- Integrate Okta with target applications and APIs.
- Configure and validate access tokens, scopes, and claims across integrated systems.
- Develop and execute functional and security test scenarios to validate the POC.
- Troubleshoot integration and configuration issues as they arise.
- Document the POC architecture, configuration decisions, and results.
- Deliver recommendations for production implementation and support knowledge transfer to the client team.
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience with Okta / Okta Identity Engine,
ideally including Authorization Server configuration.
- Strong understanding of IAM fundamentals, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
- Working knowledge of JWT, access tokens, scopes, claims, and audiences.
- Experience integrating applications and APIs with an Identity Provider.
- Comfort working across the full cycle: analysis, configuration, integration, and testing.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the discipline to document as you go.
