Summary

We are seeking a clinically skilled physician assistant both administrative and hands-on patient care activities within our primary care clinic. This role is ideal for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) seeking Canadian clinical exposure while working within a non-regulated support role under physician supervision.

The successful candidate will contribute to efficient clinic operations while assisting physicians with vaccinations, basic wound care, and general clinical support to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support

- Prepare and room patients for appointments
- Collect patient information, medical histories, medications, and allergies
- Record vital signs and prepare charts for physician review
- Administer vaccines and injections as directed by the physician
- Perform basic dressings and simple wound care




- Assist physicians during minor procedures by preparing rooms, instruments, and equipment
- Draft clinical notes, referral letters, and summaries for physician sign-off
- Provide physician-approved patient education and instructions
- Maintain exam room cleanliness, infection control, and sterilization standards

Administrative & Operations

- Greet patients and support smooth clinic flow
- Input, edit, and maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and correspondence
- Coordinate referrals, follow-ups, and diagnostic test tracking
- Maintain confidential patient records in compliance with PHIPA
- Support billing, insurance forms, and general administrative tasks
- Manage scheduling, phone calls, faxes, and front-desk responsibilities

Qualifications

- Medical Office Assistant diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- International Medical Graduate (IMG) with completed medical degree strongly preferred
- Prior clinical or patient-care experience is an asset
- Comfortable administering vaccines and performing basic clinical procedures
- Knowledge of EMR systems and clinical workflows
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
