In-Home and Out-of-Home Child Development Support Worker

Location: Southern Alberta (Community-Based)

Position Type: Casual/Wage with Opportunity for Part-Time Hours

Schedule: Flexible, Self-Directed Scheduling

Work Location: In the Community, Family Homes, and Community Settings

We are currently seeking compassionate, energetic, and dependable individuals to join our team as In-Home and Out-of-Home Child Development Support Workers.

In this role, you will work directly with children and youth with developmental disabilities and diverse support needs in their homes and communities. Successful candidates will be matched with families based on their experience, interests, availability, and skill sets to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.

What You'll Do

As an In-Home and Out-of-Home Child Development Support Worker, you will:

- Support children and youth in achieving individualized goals identified by families and service teams
- Promote social, emotional, communication, behavioral, and life skills development
- Facilitate community inclusion, recreation, and leisure activities
- Provide respite and mentoring support to children and youth
- Assist children in building independence, self-confidence, and daily living skills
- Implement individualized strategies developed in collaboration with families and professionals




- Maintain professional documentation and progress notes
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and community partners
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment during all activities
- Support children both in their homes and within community settings

What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will have:

- Experience working with children, youth, or individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of child development principles and strengths-based support approaches
- Experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, or complex needs is considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- The ability to work independently while remaining connected to a multidisciplinary team
- A compassionate, patient, and family-focused approach to service delivery
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication

Education & Experience Preference will be given to candidates with:

- Diploma or Degree in Child and Youth Care, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Disability Studies, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
- Relevant experience supporting children, youth, or families in community-based settings

Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Working With Our Team





Successful candidates will receive ongoing support from a Program Supervisor and may collaborate with other professionals to support each child's individualized goals.

Requirements

Applicants must

- Hold a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (Non-GDL preferred)
- Have access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel
- Be able to provide proof of $2 million automobile liability insurance
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Successfully complete required background screening checks
