The Indigenous
Child and Family Well-Being Worker (ICFWBW) plays a critical role in supporting Indigenous children, youth, and families in Renfrew County. This position integrates Indigenous knowledge and trauma-informed practices to ensure compliance with the Child, Youth and Family Services Act. You'll be collaborating closely with community members, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers to foster well-being and cultural identity. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess safety and risk for Indigenous children and families
- Conduct investigations and develop culturally relevant service plans
- Ensure compliance with legislative obligations and standards
- Coordinate services with internal teams and community partners
- Maintain thorough documentation and case records Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master of Social Work preferred
- Experience with Indigenous communities and practices
- Solid understanding of CYFSA and child welfare issues
- Commitment to anti-oppression and inclusivity
- French language skills are an asset Support the well-being of Indigenous families and ensure culturally relevant care within our community.
