Duties
- Demonstrate and instruct athletic, fitness or sports activities and techniques
- Assist with special events
- Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs
- Plan and carry out recreational, fitness and sports activities
- Maintain and repair sports equipment
- Train and supervise staff
- Understand principles of group dynamics
- Schedule activities, keep logs, maintain records, and prepare reports
- Leading/instructing groups
- Leading/instructing individuals
- Provide lifestyle awareness information
- Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- Assemble supplies, sports, and game equipment
- Monitor recreational, sports or fitness activities to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required
Qualifications:
- Completion of a post-secondary diploma is required.
- Level 1 certificate in coaching.
- Experience supervising 5 – 10 people for a minimum of 1 year.
- Effective interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of coaching experience.
- The ability to understand and communicate with clients from the ages of 5 to 75 and various cultures.
- Must be available to work a versatile schedule that includes weekdays, Monday to Friday and occasional weekends,
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time Pay: $27.00 per hour
