Become a key player in L.B. Foster's Friction Management division as a Mechanical Engineer II. Focus on the design and development of innovative mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for onboard train applications.
In this integral position, you'll engage in the entire design process, from conceptualizing solutions to conducting validation tests using FEA modeling. Your role will also include supporting manufacturing quality and preparing all necessary documentation. You will collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication throughout project phases.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for train applications • Validate designs through detailed FEA modeling and field assessments • Draft and finalize manufacturing specifications and drawings • Support QA processes during manufacturing phases • Coordinate field trials and performance evaluations of equipment
Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering • 2-4 years experience in a relevant design role • Proficient in CAD modeling, particularly SolidWorks • Experience with electro-mechanical controls and automation preferred • Ability to travel up to 25% for project needs
