Become an Inreach Worker with CMHA Calgary, focusing on community care and peer support for individuals facing significant barriers to wellness. This full time position is on-site, engaging with clients in need of assistance.
In this important role within the Community Programs department, you will work with those experiencing housing instability and mental health challenges. You will engage with individuals at the Welcome Centre, coordinating support and resources to promote stability. Your expertise in crisis management and community systems will be invaluable in this temporary position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster connections with individuals facing mental health challenges
• Assess clients' immediate needs and create support strategies
• Offer trauma-informed emotional support and de-escalation
• Help individuals connect with necessary community services
• Maintain collaborative partnerships with local service providers
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in Social Work or a related field
• Three years’ experience supporting vulnerable populations
• Required training in crisis intervention and mental health first aid
• Knowledge of Calgary’s community resources and support systems
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
