Aviva Canada Inc. has an exciting opportunity in our Small Medium and Enterprise (SME) commercial insurance business unit. Our Calgary branch is seeking a Commercial Lines P&C; Underwriter at an intermediate level. What you’ll do - Underwrite new and renewal Core & Mid‑Market P&C; accounts within delegated authority, ensuring profitable growth.

- Assess moderate to moderately complex risks and recommend terms, conditions, and pricing.
- Prepare referrals for risks outside authority with clear recommendations.
- Build and maintain broker relationships; participate in broker/insured meetings to support new business and renewals.
- Monitor market conditions and apply underwriting guidelines consistently.
- Maintain accurate documentation, portfolio quality, and compliance.
- Support junior staff through basic coaching when needed. What you’ll bring - 3+ years of P&C; underwriting experience; CIP preferred or in progress.
- Strong understanding of underwriting fundamentals, pricing, and policy wording.
- Proficiency with underwriting systems, rating tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills.
