About Maple Life
Maple Life is a fast-growing social media brand with 94K+ Instagram followers, creating short-form Reels and YouTube videos that people actually stop and watch. We do street interviews and personality-driven content.
We're looking for our next on-camera face.
The Role
You'll be the host — the person who walks up to strangers, asks the question, and makes the whole thing fun to watch. This isn't a behind-the-scenes job. You're the energy of every video.
What you'll be doing:
- Hosting street interviews and on-location segments for Reels, TikTok, and YouTube
- Approaching strangers confidently and getting them to open up on camera
- Delivering scripted intros, hooks, and outros naturally to camera
- Collaborating with our team on video concepts, questions, and angles
- Improvising and thinking on your feet when a conversation goes somewhere unexpected
- Occasional voiceover and talking-head content
Shoots typically run 2-3 hours, 2-3 days per week, on weekdays.
Who We're Looking For
- Genuinely confident. You're comfortable walking up to a stranger on a busy street and starting a conversation. Nothing rattles you.
- Fun, bubbly personality. You bring warmth and energy that makes people want to talk to you — and makes viewers want to keep watching.
- Polished and camera-ready. You show up put-together and professional. You take pride in how you present on camera.
- Quick on your feet. Great instincts for follow-up questions and knowing when a moment is gold.
- Reliable. You show up on time, ready to go,
and communicate clearly.
- Available on weekdays. This is important — most of our shoots happen Monday through Friday.
- Based in Metro Vancouver. Shoots take place around Vancouver and Burnaby, so you'll need to be local and able to get to locations.
Nice to have (but not required):
- Prior on-camera, hosting, presenting, acting, or public speaking experience
- An existing social media presence or personal brand
- Familiarity with short-form content trends and formats
You don't need a film degree or years of experience. If you're naturally magnetic on camera, we want to see you.
How to Apply:
Applications without a video will not be considered.
Please attach your resume and include your intro video link.
Email
[email protected] with the subject line "Host Application – [Your Name]" and include:
- An unlisted YouTube link to a 1-minute video of you introducing yourself. Film it on your phone — no production value needed. Just talk to the camera like you're talking to a friend. Give us a fun intro about you, why you'd be great at this, and show us your personality. (Set it to Unlisted, not Private, or we won't be able to watch it.)
- Your resume (PDF or Word)
- Your name, city, and phone number
- Your weekday availability
- Any social handles, reels, or past on-camera work you want to share (optional)
We review every video. Successful applicants will be invited to a Zoom interview. Maple Life is an equal prospect employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds.
