Empower students academically at Port Hardy Secondary School as a First Nation Support Worker. This contract position involves 30 hours weekly, providing vital academic and cultural support to learners.

In this role, the First Nation Support Worker aims to create an inclusive atmosphere for all students by working closely with teachers and school staff. You'll assist students with various subjects, monitor their progress, and help facilitate their transitions smoothly into secondary education. Knowledge of First Nations culture is invaluable in this capacity.

Key Responsibilities:



• Distinguish educational support for all students • Collaborate to assist students with classroom assignments • Track and report on student progress • Facilitate transitions for elementary students into the school • Maintain records related to the First Nations Program

Requirements: • Completed secondary school education or equivalent • At least one year of relevant post-secondary education • Proficient knowledge of Kwakwaka’wakw traditions • Robust organization and communication abilities • Experience engaging with First Nations students preferred
