As an Island Planner within the BC Public Service, you'll oversee planning activities for Local Trust Committees while adhering to best practices.
Utilizing your comprehensive knowledge of planning legislation and experience in the field, you'll ensure project success and timely completion. Engage with communities and agencies to facilitate development and environmental responsibility. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all planning activities for Local Trust Committees
- Process planning applications and legal documentation
- Represent Islands Trust at public and qualified forums
- Collaborate with First Nations on planning issues
- Ensure alignment with Trust Council’s service delivery practices Requirements:
- Graduate degree in land use planning or related field
- Minimum five years in land use planning experience
- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong knowledge of planning theory and legislation
