About The Role

PS Consulters is recruiting experienced IT project managers and ERP advisors for a pipeline of public sector engagements across provincial ministries, municipalities, and agencies. The demand takes two recurring shapes.

The first is delivery project management: owning a technology project end to end inside a public sector governance structure, from planning and vendor management through executive reporting and closure. The second is advisory work at the front of the lifecycle: ERP and major-system needs analyses, readiness assessments, and options studies that determine what an organization should buy before any procurement is issued. Advisory mandates in particular reward consultants who write well and think independently: the deliverable is a recommendation an executive team will rely on, often for the largest technology spend that organization will make in a decade.

Several of the driving arrangements are rosters and standing vehicles, which historically produce repeat call-ups for consultants who perform. Engagements are contracted through PS Consulters, hourly or per-deliverable by mandate, at competitive market rates; applicants state rate expectations. Delivery is remote-first with on-site days by engagement.

Work is delivered in English. This is an anticipated contract role tied to an active public sector procurement. Start dates depend on award and onboarding timelines. Responsibilities

- Lead IT project delivery: planning, scheduling, budget control, risk and issue management, and status reporting to steering committees
- Manage vendors and contracts within public sector procurement and governance rules




- Conduct ERP and major-system needs assessments: current-state analysis, requirements definition, and fit-gap evaluation
- Produce options analyses and readiness reviews with defensible costing and sequencing
- Support procurement stages: requirements documentation, evaluation support, and implementation oversight
- Facilitate stakeholder groups spanning business, IT, finance, and vendor teams
- Establish or operate project governance artifacts that survive audit scrutiny
- Mentor client project staff where knowledge transfer is in scope

Requirements

- 8+ years managing IT projects, including at least one ERP or major enterprise-system selection or implementation
- Demonstrated delivery inside formal governance (steering committees, stage gates, public sector reporting)
- Solid vendor and contract management experience
- Excellent facilitation, documentation, and executive-communication skills in English
- Comfort operating solo as the senior external presence on an engagement

Qualifications

- Legally eligible to work in Canada: Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit
- Available as an incorporated (corp-to-corp) or T4 contractor
- Able to state hourly rate expectations and earliest availability date in the application

Nice to Have
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification
- Organizational change management training or certification
- Municipal or provincial government experience in Canada
- Familiarity with public sector procurement processes from the buyer side
