Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our technology team in Mississauga, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing scalable Java applications, building RESTful APIs, working with Spring Boot and microservices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based applications.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Build enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following established coding standards.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases and optimize SQL queries when required.
- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Troubleshoot application issues and identify root causes.
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other developers.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions.
- Develop unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
- Work with CI/CD pipelines and modern development and deployment practices.
- Document technical solutions, APIs, and application processes.
- Stay current with emerging Java technologies and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of skilled experience in Java development.
- Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17+.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC,



and Spring Framework.
- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
- Knowledge of JUnit, Mockito, or other testing frameworks.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of frontend technologies such as Angular or React is an asset.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native application development.
