Role Description The Journey person mechanic role is a full time, on-site position based in St. Albert, AB. This role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues on a variety of vehicles, performing routine maintenance services such as oil changes, brake work, tire installation and balancing, and alignment checks.

The mechanic will inspect vehicles, identify required repairs, order or request parts, and complete work according to safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include test-driving vehicles to confirm repairs, maintaining accurate repair records, keeping the workspace organized,



and communicating clearly with service advisors and customers about findings and recommended work. The role also includes supporting other team members, following shop procedures, and contributing to a safe, efficient, and respectful work environment.

Qualifications

- Recognized Journeyperson automotive technician certification (or equivalent) and strong experience with general vehicle diagnostics and repair.
- Proficiency in tire services, including mounting, balancing, repairs, and wheel alignments.
- Hands-on skills in brake systems, suspension, steering, and routine maintenance services.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Effective communication skills for discussing vehicle issues and repair options with team members and customers.
- Ability to work on-site full time, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate in a team-oriented shop environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in a tire and auto shop setting is an asset.
