The ideal candidate will be capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities. This role will help architect, design and build automation, and integration tests to support backend services and infrastructure engineering quality and testing initiatives. The responsibilities include creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and scripts based on API- and client-driven design specifications outlined in stories. Success will be measured by driving adoption of standards and best practices for software test development, with material impact on product scalability, end user reliability, defect detection, and velocity of successful delivery of innovation.To be successful as a Senior SDET II, you should have excellent time management and organizational skills, as well as solid communication and technical leadership skills. You should have a passion for designing, developing, and testing code, as well as embracing and learning new technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn technical components of test frameworks, test infrastructure and test toolingDesign, create, maintain,
and optimize test automation frameworks for Optro web applicationsDevelop and lead synthetic data & generative AI strategyDesign and implement high-level architectural roadmap to transition legacy test frameworks into self-healing, AI-driven ecosystemsDevelop deep understanding of the system's code structure and component interactionsEvaluate, prototype, and implement cutting-edge agentic tooling to enhance test automation frameworks and test toolingManage technical communications and provide technical mentorship for more junior SDETsCollaborate with horizontal (infrastructure, platform, architecture) teams and product teamsProvide technical feedback on product design and architectureOffer feedback on the testability of functional elementsResearch test tools, frameworks, testing methodologies, and trends, and upgrade existing practices and processes to meet the ever-evolving technological landscapeAttributes for a Successful CandidateBachelor's Degree in engineering (CS or EE) or equivalent experience9+ years proven work experience in Software Development in Test4+ years of experience using Playwright or Cypress required4+ years of experience coding with JavaScript and/or TypeScript (preferred)4+ years of experience in test automation in SaaS and/or B2B facing internet-based applications3+ years of experience with building test automation on technologies like NodeJS, NPM, etcExperience building infra-as-code automation technologies like: Terraform, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, etcDemonstrable experience in researching new technologies that might help improve the application, infrastructure,
