We are looking for a skilled and reliable Journeyman Truck and Trailer Welder to join our team. They will perform welding, fitting, fabrication, truck and trailer repairs, and equipment rig-ups involving mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. The successful candidate will operate welding and shop equipment safely, complete fabrication projects to specifications, maintain high standards of quality and accuracy, and assist with general shop maintenance and cleanup.
They will follow all company safety procedures, work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, and support various welding, fabrication, maintenance, and labor duties as required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform welding, fitting, and fabrication of mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel components.
- Complete truck and trailer maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
- Perform truck rig-ups and installation of equipment and components.
- Complete new fabrication projects according to specifications.
- Operate welding equipment, cutting tools, grinders, drills, and other shop equipment safely.
- Ensure completed welds and fabricated components to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Assist with general shop maintenance, organization, and cleanup.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Perform other welding, fabrication, maintenance, and labor duties as required.
Requirements:
- Certified Red Seal or Alberta Journeyperson Welder.
- Welding tickets/certifications or any traditional valid safety certifications is an asset.
- 1-2 years previous welding and fabrication experience required.
- Experience working with mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Experience with truck and trailer maintenance is an asset.
- Experience with truck rig-ups is an asset.
- Physically capable of performing manual work in a shop workplace.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation is required, as the facility is not easily accessible by public transit.
Schedule:
- Cross-shift rotation, including weekend coverage, with every second weekend off for an extended long weekend.
- Day shift hours.
