Journeyperson Electrician – Service, Renovations & Generators

JCR Electric is looking for a skilled and motivated Journeyperson Electrician to join our growing team in Victoria, BC.

We are a local electrical contractor serving Victoria and the surrounding areas. Our work includes residential renovations, electrical service work, tenant improvements, generator installations and small commercial projects.

This position is ideal for an experienced electrician who takes pride in their workmanship, communicates well and is comfortable taking ownership of jobs from start to finish.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Residential renovations and electrical upgrades
- Service calls, troubleshooting and repairs
- Tenant improvements and small commercial projects
- Generator and automatic transfer switch installations
- Generator servicing and troubleshooting
- Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment
- Reading and interpreting drawings, schematics and electrical plans
- Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment
- Ensuring all work meets current electrical code and safety requirements
- Coordinating professionally with customers, contractors and other trades
- Keeping job sites clean, organized and safe
- Working independently and helping guide apprentices when required
- Keeping accurate records of work performed and materials used

What We’re Looking For
- Red Seal or BC Journeyperson Electrician certification
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean driving record
- Strong working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
- Experience with residential renovations and electrical service work




- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned jobs
- Ability to plan work, identify required materials and complete projects efficiently
- Clean, organized and professional workmanship
- Reliable and punctual
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with customers and other trades
- Willingness to learn, take on responsibility and grow with the company

Experience with generator installations, automatic transfer switches, servicing and troubleshooting is considered a strong asset. Certifications & Tickets The following certifications are considered an asset:
- Lift / Aerial Work Platform ticket
- Fall Protection
- First Aid

Pay: $38.00–$45.00 per hour, based on experience
