Junior Automation Engineering Associate

TENG Inc. is a fast growing, medium-size engineering consultant company providing engineering and project management services to multiple industry sectors. We have an immediate need for Junior Automation Engineering Associate to report to our Mississauga Headquarters.

I&C; Section helps our clients to develop, enhance and maintain their facilities in oil-gas and other industries. I&C; Section works closely with the other disciplines to develop efficient EPC solutions for our clients.

The Automation & Controls Designer will help maintain a reputation for project quality in our quick-growing, medium-size engineering company. His/her work will entail detailed design of controls and automation systems, field instrumentation and control devices. This will include configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and Commissioning & Startup support.

The successful candidate would have strong, hands-on technical expertise based on formal training and experience in industrial automation and controls, augmented by a minimum of 3 years of experience in the relevant industries. This role will require strong communication skills and an ability to work well within professional project teams, plant operators, and I&C; Technicians and maintenance staff.

Membership in one or more provincial engineering or technologist associations is preferred but not required. Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.

The successful candidate’s roles and responsibilities will include:

- Client interface to develop functional requirements and assess project deliverables




- Support the development of project documentation (including control system detailed design package, control narratives, alarm indexes, shutdown keys, user manuals, FAT/SAT documentation)
- Design and configuration of PLC and HMI/SCADA systems
- Design of Industrial network and controls systems
- Participate in project meetings between engineering, project management, operations and client.
- Experience in an EPCM environment within the downstream oil and gas sector
- Experience with Rockwell PlantPAx system
- Experience with Wonderware System Platform
- Knowledge and experience with common industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
- Occasional on-site support within Canada.
- Most work is performed in a professional office.
- Required to walk, sit and while on-site to stand for moderate periods of time.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Diploma in a related field preferred

Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial environment

Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English

Pay: $68,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
